Memorial

Brooke Renee Steyaert, 32, went to be with her Lord and Savior, June 3, 2012. She was born March 1, 1980 to Bob and Barbara (Jackson) Ingalls in Yuma and graduated from Yuma High School in 1998 where she was an outstanding athlete in basketball, volleyball and softball. A celebration of Brooke’s short life on earth was June 9 at the Victory Christian Center in Greeley. Brooke’s life of faith began in the hearts of her great-grandparents who daily prayed for their future generations. Brooke embraced this legacy, giving herself to her Lord with abandon, living life to its fullest, one of significance. With her infectious laugh and crazy sense of humor, Brooke turned ordinary events into extraordinary memories of joy. Whether kneeling to wipe her daughters’ tears, or kneeling in reverence to God; piercing her ears or piercing hearts with her music; tattooing scripture on her back, or deep within her soul; this precious daughter of The Most High was truly a woman of God. She enriched every life she encountered, spreading the seeds of God’s love and hope. Her written words and melodies were divinely inspired, expressing her deep love for God. Brooke said, "When we cry, God hears a song.” Our tears join her song today, as she has been embraced in heaven by those who have gone before her. Let us rejoice that she now sits at her Daddy’s feet, gazing into His eyes…giving Him her song, for all of eternity. Brooke is survived by her husband, Bryan and daughters Bailey and Bentley of Greeley, her parents Bob and Barbara Ingalls of Yuma, brother Chris (Naomi) Ingalls and Michaelah and Colton of Arvada, brother Michael (Melissa) Ingalls and Tirzah of Lawrence, Kan., uncle and aunt Bill and Cheryl Jackson of Greeley, uncle and aunt Ken and Dalleen Trout of Fort Morgan, and in-laws Jon and Chauna Button of Brighton, Jim Steyaert of Yuma, Felicia Webster of Edmond, Okla., grandfather Charles Gerber of Kingman, Kan., and numerous other uncles, aunts and cousins. An account has been set up at Wells Fargo Bank to receive contributions in Brooke’s memory. Checks may be made out to the "Brooke Steyaert Memorial Fund,” and sent to Adamson Funeral & Cremation Services, 2000 47th Ave., Greeley, CO 80634. Brooke’s writing and heart continues to inspire at her blog, www.rescued-treasure.blogspot.com.
