Mr. Bruce R. Gardner, AKA "BooBoo", age 73, of Gloversville, died Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Ellis Hospital, Schenectady, following a short illness. He was born January 22, 1943 in Gloversville, the son of the late Robert and Margaret Stoddard Gardner. He was employed at the former Loblaw's Market chain. He later became owner of Gardner Trucking from 1969 until he retired in 2004, which was operated as a family business with his wife and daughters. For the past 30 years he also owned and operated Royal Bay Stables with his daughter, Melinda. Bruce was an avid hunter and enjoyed his hunting camp in Hope Falls. Bruce is survived by his wife, Mary Jane Baldwin Gardner of Gloversville; two daughters: Leslie Ann Evans (Thomas) of East Amherst, NY and Melinda Lee Gardner (Tim Subik) of Gloversville; four grandchildren: Nolan Evans, Ashley Subik, Corinne Subik and Gillian Evans. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his loving companion pet dog, Greta. The family will receive relatives and friends from 4 to 6 pm Monday, May 16th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Cremation took place at Parkview Cemetery Crematorium, Schenectady. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Regional Animal Shelter, P.O.
