Bruce Damian Gordon
April 14th, 1941 - September 26th, 2017
Bruce D. Gordon 76, of Tierra Verde passed away on September 26th of complications related to heart and lung issues. Bruce was born in Cleveland, Ohio to Arthur and Lucy Gordon and moved to St. Petersburg when he was just 4 years old. He was a graduate of St. Leo College Preparatory School and the University of South Florida. After college Bruce became a professional pilot and worked as a crop duster and a commercial pilot on smaller charter planes, then he worked for 20 years as an internal auditor with General Electric. In 2006 Bruce married Gayle Fogg Gordon. In 2011 he retired from his job as a business consultant at a national consulting firm based in Chicago. Bruce loved the water, and was both an accomplished sailor and power boater. Most recently he enjoyed local and long distance trips aboard his cruising trawler 'Rogue' with his wife, family and friends. Bruce is survived by his wife of 21 years, Gayle Fogg Gordon of Tierra Verde, her daughter Allison and her husband Bobby Garrett of Tampa; his sister Laurel, and her husband Wayne Cobb, his niece Emma, her husband Darren Richter, and their six children Veronica, Geoffrey, Isabelle, Bernadette, Bart and Lily, all of Dade City; Cousins the Dusa family of Largo; dear friend Archie Stimpson of Ft. Myers Beach. He was predeceased by his parents Lucy and Arthur Gordon. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday October 2nd at 10:30 am at St. John Vianney Church on Blind Pass in St. Pete Beach with a reception to follow at the church's reception hall. He will be buried at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Clearwater at 2:30 on the same day.
