Bryan William Summy

Bryan William Summy, 27, of Albuquerque, NM, passed away December 23, 2017 in his sleep due to health complications. He was born August 21, 1990 in Silver City, NM to Scott and Dora Summy. He grew up in Gallup, NM and graduated high school from Gallup High School in 2008. He was involved in all sports and as a percussionist. Bryan went on to continue his education at Eastern New Mexico University where he majored in Business and was a part of the Greyhound Sound Marching Band and Concert band as a percussionist for 3 years. Bryan was an avid sports fan and a diehard Dallas Cowboys, New York Yankees, Duke Basketball, and Los Angeles Lakers fan. Bryan enjoyed music and took pride as a member of all marching bands, praise bands, jazz bands, and concert bands. Bryan worked primarily in retail and customer service, where he was able to thrive with his extrovert and welcoming personality, as he was a stranger to no one. Bryan attended First Baptist Church in Gallup, NM where he first met his wife. Bryan was a family man in every sense of the word and especially cherished every moment with his son. Bryan is survived by his wife, Erica (Williams) Summy and his son, Sean Lee Summy; his parents Scott and Dora Summy; his brothers Steven Summy and Dylan Summy. He also leaves his maternal grandmother, Consuelo Salas of Bayard, NM; and his paternal grandparents, Ronny Hodgkins and Gail Hodgkins of Kilgore, TX. He is also survived of several beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the family. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at 1:00pm at Albuquerque's First Baptist Church located at 4101 Paseo del Norte NW Albuquerque, NM 87114. A small reception will follow.
