Bryant 'Cobb' Waters
December 6th, 1955 - October 16th, 2022
Obituary Bryant Waters, also known to many as "Cobb", was born on December 6th, 1955, in Baltimore, MD. At the age of 66, Cobb passed away peacefully with family and friends by his side on October 16th, 2022, in Colorado Springs, CO. Together with his wife, Marilyn, they battled the disease for 23 years with grace, bravery and strength. Most days, he was positive and determined not to let the disease keep him from doing the things he loved. He loved fiercely and deeply and we can take comfort in knowing that Bryant is now at peace surrounded by the Light. Bryant graduated from The Boys Latin School of Maryland in 1974 where he played numerous sports and made a number of lifelong friends. Following Boys Latin, Bryant attended The University of Maryland on a lacrosse scholarship. There he was a member of the 1975 National Championship team, a captain and an All American goalie. After graduating in 1979, he went on to have a successful mortgage business with his longtime friend and business partner, Sarah Lenes. Bryant was inducted into The Boys Latin Athletic Hall of Fame in 2010. Bryant possessed the rare combination of an exceptional writing ability and a flair for spontaneous self-expressions. He leveraged those talents and detailed some of his amazing experiences in his autobiographical work, "Its My Ball". When not writing memoirs or verse, Bryant could be found in the surf and waves. His love for the ocean grew from his childhood summers in Rehoboth Beach, DE and from later living on the beaches of sunny Southern California. He was a voracious reader and loved to enlighten and enrich himself with the writings of his favorite musicians. He was also an audiophile and avid concert-goer who loved the super hi-fi sounds of his favorite bands: The Allman Brother, Sammy Hagar, Stevie Ray Vaughn and The Derek Trucks Band. Like most music lovers, he couldnt help himself but to try and sing. He loved a roaring fire with family and friends, complemented by a fine cigar and a drink. He was a true bon vivant - someone who appreciated life, socialized indulgently and exemplified kindness. He was everyones friend. Bryant was born to Herbert and Rita (Langenfelder) Waters, who proceeded him in death. He is survived by his wife Marilyn Quirk-Waters of Colorado Springs, Colorado, two sons, Michael Waters and Mitchell (Kari) Waters, both of Baltimore, two bonus children, daughter Chelsie (Acie) Quirk-Muse and son Chad Quirk, both of Colorado Springs, along with five grandchildren, Michael Jr, Kyle, Ava, Isla and Layne. Bryant also leaves behind 2 brothers, Herbert (Lin) Waters and Jeffrey (Lisa) Waters, both of Baltimore, several nieces and nephews, many cousins and a host of amazing friends. There will be a Celebration of Life in the upcoming University of Maryland Mens Lacrosse season in Baltimore, date and time to be determined. His family and friends wish to extend a special thanks to the dedicated staff of Enhabit Home Healthcare, Memorial Hospital Central, The Center at Centennial Rehab Hospital and Abode Home Hospice Care.
