Buck LeRoy Truett, Jr.
March 7th, 1936 - July 25th, 2024
In Loving Memory
Buck LeRoy Truett, Jr., affectionately known to all as "Big Daddy Buck", aged 88, of Lexington, SC, concluded his earthly journey on July 25, 2024. Born on March 7, 1936, Buck was a man whose life was defined by unwavering commitment to his loved ones, to his country, and to his varied pursuits.
Displaying commendable service in the United States Navy, Buck exemplified the virtues of honor and camaraderie. His career spanned several industries, where he established himself in mortgage and loan services, then in the realm of real estate, and later as the genial proprietor of a local tavern.
His leisure time often found him amidst the excitement of horseracing or engaged in the mental challenge of backgammon.
Left to honor his memory are his daughters, Deborah Lee Truett Resendiz and Tess Truett; sons, Timothy Bryan Truett, Jonathan Resendiz and Tim Truett; brothers, Melvin and Terry Truett; sisters-in-laws, Peggy and Paulette Truett; daughter-in-law, Stacie Truett; grandchildren, Taylor Truett, Sarah Truett Anawalt (Alan), and Natalie Truett Lawrence (Karl); great-grandchildren, Shay, Jane, and Caleb; together with a host of beloved nieces and nephews, Christopher Truett, Sean Truett, Sunny Truett, Todd Truett, Sammy Truett, Tia Burgess, Chad Toole, Tari Black, Jeff Wilson, and Lori Woodworth. And, his beloved and cherished cat Pretty Girl, whom he referred to as his daughter and best gift he ever received in life. His reunion in eternal rest was preceded by his treasured wife, Mary Alice Davis Truett; his late father, Buster Truett; his mother, Hazel Truett; and his sister, Cheryl Truett. Along with all the amazing family and friends whom he cherished!
With the passing of Buck, a legacy of integrity, leadership, and joyful engagement with the world continues to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. Big Daddy Buck never met a stranger. The kindest, most loving man that made an imprint on all the lives that had the honor of knowing him. He will forever be an impact on the lives he touched, known to do anything and everything he possibly could for anyone in need. His love was hard, he was a monarch. Big Daddy Buck had left this world to be with his Lord, or as he referred to him HIS COACH. Our lives and the world have lost a true gentleman.
