Buddy Athouguia
February 7th, 1945 - September 28th, 2018
BUDDY ATHOUGUIA (USAF, TSGT - Retired) Born Feb. 7, 1945 in New Bedford, Mass. - passed away Sept.28 at the age of 73. With his friendly smile, Buddy loved people and they loved him. He served in the U.S. Air Force 1965-85 and was stationed in Thailand, VietNam, Okinawa, Korea and 6 state-side bases. He then worked as an NDI specialist at Hughes / Raytheon from 1986-2006. His strong interest in classic cars and Mustangs resulted in many awards and a wide variety of friends including those in Eastside Strokers and the Southern Arizona Mustang Club. He also supported Esperanza en Escalante, Epsilon Sigma Alpha and the Red Hat Society through his expertise with photography and volunteered with the Community Food Bank. Buddy is survived by loving wife of 52 years, Nelle, and by loving son, Tony. He was preceded in death by son, Shawn. Buddy is also survived by 6 grandchildren - Shelby, Austin, Cole, Gabby, Tyler, Baker, and 1 great-grandchild. The family wishes to thank the TMC Hospice and requests donations be made to them in lieu of flowers. (5301 E. Grant Road 85712) A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, October the 9th at 11:00 am at the Arizona Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 15950 N. Luckett Rd, Marana, Arizona 85653
