BUELL LYMAN BASSETTE passed away on December 28, 2008 in Sun City Center, FL. He was born to John and Ina Atwood Bassette of Watertown, CT on September 29, 1930. He spent his youth in Mt. Hermon, MA and graduated from Turners Falls High School, Mt. Hermon School and received a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from The Ohio State University. He served in the US Army in Guam and Japan during the Korean Conflict. Buell owned and operated the Boxford Animal Clinic, Boxford, MA for 32 years before retiring to Florida. He loved his family, his clients and their pets, the outdoors, fishing trips, his camp in Maine, birding and nature photography. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jean Meehl of Lynnfield, MA. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Beverly. He is also survived by his son, Ross, his daughter, Carol Schmidt, and son-in-law, Whitney Schmidt, of Tampa, and his brother, John, of Cornish Flat, NH. Memorials may be sent to Lifepath Hospice of Sun City Center or Mt. Hermon School, Mt. Hermon, MA.
