Constantino "Joe" Amati, 86, longtime resident of Salinas, passed away on October 31, 2011 at home, with his family by his side. Joe was born on June 15, 1925 in Rochester, New York and had moved to Salinas in 1948. He was previously employed as a Compressor Man with Pacific Bell for over 40 years. Joe proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII and received the Purple Heart Medal for his valor. He was a local member of D.A.V., Lion's Club, the American Legion and the Pioneer's. He is survived by his daughter, Jo Anne Amati and grandchildren Barbara, Matthew and Anthony all of Mendocino He is preceded in death by his wife, Anne and sons, Fred and James. At family's request, no services will be held. A Cremation will take place. An Inurnment will follow at a later date at the Casper Cemetery in Caspar, CA.
