Caleb Lee James, 23, of Denton, NC passed away Sunday, December 6, 2020. Funeral Services celebrating his life will be held 11:00AM Friday, December 11, 2020 at The Bridge, 1080 Snow Bridge Lane, Kernersville, NC 27284 with Pastor Kevin Thoman officiating. Interment will follow at Gardens of Memory, Walkertown, NC. The family will greet friends with a walk-through visitation from 6:00PM to 8:00PM Thursday, December 10, 2020 at the Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Services Kernersville Chapel. A native of Thomasville, NC, Caleb was the son of Cory James and Kelli Church. Caleb was a 2015 graduate of Wheatmore High School, Trinity, NC, where he enjoyed automotive and welding classes. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying camping, kayaking, fishing, and loved being on the water. His favorite thing to wear was a hoodie, blue jeans, and boots. Caleb loved his family and his childhood friends. He was a devoted and loving father to his two children. Caleb was self- employed as a cabinet installer and carpenter of his business, “True Craft Kitchen and Bath”. He also, would work with his father on remodeling jobs and learned many different skills along the way. Caleb was a sweet, kind, and loving person, with the biggest heart and a beautiful soul. Survivors include his mother, Kelli N. Church and step-father, Lee Church of Thomasville, NC; father, Cory Lee James and fiancé, Lisa Tompkins and her son Westin Tompkins of Kernersville, NC; fiance’ and mother of their two children, Erica L. Bentley; son, Hagen Lee James; daughter, Kathryn Everette James “Kitty”; two sisters, Lillian Katherine Church, and Lauren Shelby Church; maternal grandparents, Traci Turner of Sophia, NC, and Jeff Turner and wife, Shirley Turner of Oak Island, NC; paternal grandparents, Timothy L. James and Lucretia B. James of Kernersville, NC; step-grandparents, Donnie and Pamela Church of Trinity, NC; paternal great grandparents, Roger and Aileen James; paternal great grandmother, Bronda Martin; uncle, Chadwick H. James and wife, Leah D. James; uncle, Andrew Jeffrey Turner and wife, Amanda Turner; aunts, Bambi L. Church, and Misty L. Hulon and husband, Mark; and many cousins.
