Calvin E. Walker, III, age 35, of Caroga Lake, died early Sunday morning, February 3, 2013 following a snowmobile accident at Pine Lake. He was born July 14, 1977 in Gloversville, the son of Calvin and Kathleen Hillman Walker, II. He was employed at the time of his death in the Engineering Dept. at Nathan Littauer Hospital where he has worked for the past 17 years. Cal was a member of the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Dept. and a former member of the Bleecker Fish and Game Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved hunting, fishing, camping and motorcycles. A master at grilling, Cal loved to cook. He is survived by: his loving companion with whom he resided, Cindy S. Stumpf; his loving son and pride and joy, Jacob A. Walker; his parents: Calvin & Kathleen Walker, II; paternal grandmother, Catherine Roberts; maternal grandmother, Jeannine Hillman; stepson, Clinton J. Butler; stepdaughter, Alyssa M. Butler; brothers: Richard Walker and James Walker; sister, Megan Walker; several nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. Cal was predeceased by his sister, Rachel Dee Walker, in 1999. The family will receive relatives and friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Thursday, February 7th at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a funeral service will follow at 5:00 p.m. with the Rev. Dr. R. W. Williams officiating. Interment will take place in the spring at Union Rural Cemetery, Mayfield. Memorial contributions may be made in lieu of flowers to the Caroga Lake Volunteer Fire Dept; P.O. Box 536, Caroga Lake, NY 12032.
