Captain Richard (Dick) B. Evans U.S. Navy (Ret)
November 3rd, 1930 - March 18th, 2019
Richard ‘Dick’ B. Evans, 88, dearly loved husband, father and grandfather, of Viera, FL. passed away Monday, March 18, 2019. He will be deeply missed by his wife of 60 years, Marilyn, and their children and spouses, Barbara and Bob Aalberts, Richard and Sheila Evans, Jr., Christine and Rick Evans/Houseman, Gretchen and Blair Polny and grandchildren, Amy Cropley, Carrie Aalberts, Kit Evans, John Evans, James Costa and his little Marilyn. A naval career spanning 30 years; Captain Evans was a surface warfare officer with many distinguished commands. Longtime resident of Indian River Colony Club, Dick earned a reputation as a friend to all with a kind word, a funny joke and a decent golf game. When he was not with his family cheering on his beloved Penn State Nittany Lions or Pittsburgh Steelers he could be found planning their next cruise. There will be a memorial service at his beloved Faith Viera Lutheran, 5550 Faith Road in Rockledge on Saturday, March 30th at 11am. He will be interred at Arlington National Cemetery In lieu of flowers the family suggests that you make a donation to one of Dick’s favorite charities, the Wounded Warrior Project or the ministries of Faith Viera Lutheran Church.
