Carl Arends

Carrol (Carl) Michael Arends was born in Highmore, SD to Michael and Frances Arends. Born on August 15, 1928, Carl was the youngest of 6 children. His family moved to Washington State when he was 6, eventually settling in the Seattle area. p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxCarl served in the United States Air Force at Eglin AFB in Florida from 1948 to 1952. After his honorable discharge as Technical Sergeant, he returned to Seattle to study accounting at Seattle University. p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxFollowing the completion of his studies at Seattle University, he began his career at McKesson Robbins where he met his wife, Dorothy Ann McBeath. They were married on September 1, 1956 at Christ the King church in Seattle. Shortly after they were married, they moved to Oakland, CA where they lived for 5 years before returning Washington. p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxWhen the Kingdome was built in 1975, a block away from McKesson, Carl was responsible for moving and combining the Seattle and Everett operations to a new location in South Everett where he was the Operations Manager. pUpon Carls retirement from McKesson in 1987, he and Dorothy enjoyed traveling in their motorhome throughout the US and Canada. In addition, they made several trips abroad, including Scotland, Germany, Austria, France, and Mexico. Carl also enjoyed fishing and antique furniture refinishing. p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxCarl is survived by his wife Dorothy, and his daughters Therese Graham (Rick), Cathy Kasper (Jack), and Anne Ripley, and sons Paul (Rebekah) and David (Janet). He is also survived by 8 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxHe is pre-deceased by his brothers Bernard (1944), Arthur (2006), Robert (2002) and sisters Margaret (2005) and Agnes (2004). p -webkit-padding-start: 0pxA funeral mass will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, January 2, 2017 at St. Mark Catholic Church in Shoreline (18033 15 -webkit-padding-start: 0px -webkit-padding-start: 0px ;th -webkit-padding-start: 0px class=apple-converted-space Pl. NE). Interment will be at Holyrood Cemetery, also in Shoreline.
