Mr. Carl P. Gentile, age 79 of Gloversville, died Monday, May 29, 2006 at Nathan Littauer Hospital Nursing Home, Gloversville, NY. He was born September 20, 1926 in Gloversville, a son of the late Joseph and Jennie Russo Gentile. He served in the Navy during World War II. Mr. Gentile was president of Johnstown Development Corporation for many years. He was a member of St. Mary of Mount Carmel Church. On September 11, 1955 he was married to Carolyn Paciolla Gentile who survives. He is also survived by two brothers, Carmen Gentile Sr. and Joseph Gentile Jr; a sister, Jennie M. Pierce; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by two other brothers, Anthony Gentile and Guy Gentile. The family will receive friends from 4 to 7 pm Thursday at Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home, 51 Fremont St; Gloversville, where a Legacy Candle Ceremony will take place at 6:45 pm. A prayer service will be conducted 9:15 am Friday at the funeral home, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Mary of Mt. Carmel Church, Gloversville. Entombment will take place in the family mausoleum at Mount Carmel Cemetery, Johnstown. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of your choice.
