Carl Rey Mora

Carl Rey Mora passed away Thursday evening on February 9, 2017, at the age of 46 in Albuquerque at UNM Hospital. He was a 1988 Valley High School graduate. Carl Rey Anthony Mora, was the 4th child, born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on February 1st, 1971 to parents Julian and Edwina Mora. Parents lost a son, siblings lost a brother, nieces and nephews lost an uncle, spouses lost a brother in law and Cecilia lost her companion of 16 years. No matter how young or old we are, when we leave this earth, death is always a hard emotion. He is survived by his parents Julian and Edwina, his sister Julie and her husband Keith Chavez; his brother Jerry and wife Delta Mora; his sister Esther and her husband Albert Otero; his brother Jonathan Mora and Carl's partner Cecilia Ortega. Carl had many nieces and nephews who loved him and will remember him fondly. We are all born knowing that someday our time will be up here on earth, but no matter how prepared we may seem to think we are, the fact is, we are never ready for the loss of a loved one. Carl was a handsome man with passion for life. He lived life on the wild side and knew how to have a good laugh. Carl followed his dad's ways and went into construction for 15 years doing interior trim in many homes around Albuquerque. He loved animals, he was a decent guitar player, and he was also a happy guy with a big heart and a hug. He taught his nieces and nephews how to play air guitar and was always up for an adventure to the ranch in Escabosa. Carl, you will always be in our hearts, but to be honest, a piece of our hearts is gone. We may not have told you all the things we felt and how much we really did love you. How we wish we could go back and tell you and hug you. It's sad that you left without a chance to say goodbye. As you begin to fly, we will always love you. We will miss those hugs and that great big smile. Since your life came to an end, our family will never be the same... one less son, one less brother, one less brother-in-law and one less uncle. We pray that you are with God in heaven and you are at peace. Your memory will live on in all our hearts--Rest in peace, Carl Rey Anthony Mora. We will always love you! A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at 6:00 p.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred Ave. NW.
