Carlton Richard Barry
September 7th, 1991 - June 27th, 2018
"Belchertown - Carlton "Carl" R. Barry, 26, died suddenly after a brief illness on June 27, 2018. Born September 7, 1991 in Concord, MA, he was the son of Richard Barry with whom he lived and Eugenie "Genie" Barry of Myrtle Beach, SC. Carl was a graduate of Belchertown High School and was a popular figure in Belchertown and blessed to have so many lasting and enduring friends. Following graduation enlisted in the Army National Guard and served seven years, being discharged as an SPC. He served as a Military Police Officer in Qatar for a year. After discharge, he immediately reenlisted and was currently serving in the Air Force Reserves. He was currently employed as a Federal Security Officer, covering western mass, Boston to Vermont. He guarded court houses, federal buildings and Social Security offices. He received his Associates Degree from Springfield Technical Community College and had been accepted to UMASS School of Management for enrollment in September 2018. Besides his parents, he will be deeply missed by his siblings, Eugenie “Genie" Barry and Robert John "RJ" Barry both with whom he lived, Richard R. Barry of Santa Monica, CA, Andrea C. Lallier of Palm Beach, FL, Suzanne J. Penney of Watertown, MA and Katherine A. Raute of Watertown, MA. He also leaves his grandmother, Heather Cleland of Myrtle Beach, SC, a special godchild, Annelise Waldron of Belchertown and 2 nephews. Calling hours will be Thursday, July 5 from 4 PM till 7 PM at the Beers & Story Belchertown Funeral Home, 10 Maple St., (Rte 202). A Funeral Mass will be Friday, July 6 at 10 AM at St. Francis Church. Please meet directly at the church. Following cremation, he will be interred at Massachusetts Veterans' Memorial Cemetery.
