Carlyle U., Jr. "Bud" Brown, 84, of St. Petersburg, Florida went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, December 16, 2014. He moved to St. Petersburg in 1955 from his native Rockland, Maine and retired as a supervisor from the former General Telephone Company. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Christian Service Center. He was a Tenor soloist at several churches in St. Petersburg. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Penny Brown; four sons, Art (Diane) Brown of Gulfport, FL, John Brown of Yankeetown, FL, Bruce (Claudia) Brown of Jefferson City, TN, Mark (Nancy) Brown of St. Petersburg; one daughter, Michelle (Michael) Jockers of St. Petersburg; one sister, Mary Ellen Britt of St. Petersburg; eight grandchildren, David, Wendy, Michael, Amanda, Katie, Lindsey, Tiffany, Tommy; and five great grandchildren, Kyle, Meagan, Jonah, Hudson, and Griffin. A memorial service will be 10:00 AM, Friday January 2, 2015 at the Christian Service Center with Pastor Mark Smith officiating. Interment will be at Bay Pines National Cemetery.
