Obituary Carmela Rose Warwaruk (Perkins) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Carmela Rose Warwaruk on October 28, 2015 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. Carmela was born on the beautiful day of April 27th, 1977. She was the fourth child born to Jean and Julian Warwaruk of Erickson, MB. Carmela was raised on the family farm south of Erickson where she attended both Erickson Elementary and Erickson Collegiate until she graduated in 1995. Her sense of adventure became very apparent as she moved from the farm to various cities in Canada and the U.S. It was during one of her many travels she met, fell in love with and married Mark Perkins and became a stepmother to Marks son, Donovan. At the time, they lived in Tacoma, Washington, where they welcomed a beautiful baby girl they named Gianna Mae. The family later moved to Colorado Springs, Colorado where their second beautiful daughter, Abella Jean, was added to their growing family. While raising her family, Carmela attended South University in Colorado and graduated in 2013 with a Bachelor of Applied Science (B.A. Sc.), Legal Studies, General. Up until her passing, Carmela worked as a paralegal for BethartTurner Attorneys at Law, LLC. Carmela, as you close your eyes to end this journey, we close our eyes with you. We will reflect on moments and experiences that remind us of who you are. Wonderful Mother. Loving, amazing and strong. Little sister. Caring, friendly, honest, and kind friend. Free spirit. Beautiful soul. Sarcastic wit, funny, easy going, great story-teller, adventurous, stubborn, determined, strong-willed, tenacious, giving. Straight and to the point. Witty and accomplished. Proud of her because she was proud of herself. Never afraid to speak her mind or do her own thing. Her sparkling eyes. Her huge smile. A great person. True to her Taurus sign. Being vertically-challenged. Old Dutch ketchup chips. Popcorn Twists, Coffee Crisp. Chocolate chip cookie dough. After Eight mints. Making salsa and breakfast burritos. Toast. Canned mushrooms. Peanut butter and honey sandwiches. Slow-cooker roast with veggies. Grandma Katherines Easter Macaroni. Moms perogies. Moms borsch. Ketchup and sour cream with almost burnt perogies. The farm. Walking the train tracks. Picking stones in the field. Skating on the slough. Suppers in the field. Combine rides. Searching for kittens. Snow forts. A good polka. The chicken dance. Picking potatoes. Never ending garden plots. Trick-or-treating during snowstorms. Bonfires. Jumping bales. Tobogganing on the back hill. Sleeping backwards in bed. Playing church. School lunches at Grandma Katherines. Matching home-sewn outfits. Hand-me downs. Decorating Ukrainian Easter eggs. Being car sick on her first family trip at 18 months old. From a small town. Swimming in a slough during a school trip. Ability to speak over all the boys. Getting clocked in the head with a Sears catalogue after we teased her too much. Croquet mallets. Pussy willows in spring. Bike rides. Playing outside on the farm. Sleep overs with cousins. Camp Wannacumbak. Clear Lake. Hitting the ditch in the winter. Being called "CAR-MEL-A" by Uncle Lawrence. Rushing River camping trips with Auntie Linda, Uncle Peter and their family. Small family gatherings that explode to include anyone and everyone. Coffee talk around the table. Mudroom conversations. Part of the Rybuck Clan. Cousin Reunions. Proud of her Ukrainian heritage. Canadian/US citizen. Animal lover and rescuer. Purple highlights. Tattoos. Coach purses. Antique lover. Painter. The colour purple. Daisies. "See You Again" by Whiz Kalifa. Listening to LeAnn Rimes version of "Amazing Grace" and bawling our eyes out because we were such softies. Her eyes sparkling when she talked about her girls. Left to keep the memory of Carmela close at heart are her husband Mark, daughters Gianna and Abella, and stepson Donovan, grandchildren Ayanna and Donovan Jr., parents Jean and Julian Warwaruk, siblings Monica (Rob - Gavin and Audrey), Murray (Nicole - Chloe), Juliana (Alivia, Tristen and Rhys), Bernard (Alanna - Wyatt and Korbin). The list of extended family includes many, many aunties, uncles and cousins. Carmela also had a vast network of friends in many parts of the world, especially in Colorado. These very special people include Jaquelle & Phil, Nichole and Mike, and Maria & Russell who were Carmelas family away from home. It is because of our family and friends expressing their never ending love, support, food, prayers, phone calls, care and concern that we have been able to keep going through this very difficult time. For this our hearts are overflowing with love and we are eternally grateful. Please join us for a celebration of Carmelas life on November 11th, 2015 at 2:30pm in St. Alphonsus Church, Minnedosa, MB. The internment will follow at Minnedosa Cemetery. Services Cappadona Funeral Home 1020 E Fillmore St Colorado Springs, CO 80907
