Carmena P. Reinig of Amsterdam, NY passed away peacefully on April 3, 2013 at St. Mary's Hospital in Amsterdam. She was born January 8, 1931 in Rome, NY, the daughter of the late Nicholas & Connie Ross Viggiano. Born and raised in Rome, NY, she also graduated from Rome High School. She came to Amsterdam in 1950 and graduated from the Amsterdam Memorial Hospital School of Nursing. She was a Registered Nurse for 35 years at Amsterdam Memorial Hospital. She married Joseph A. Reinig on May 31, 1952. They shared 21 years of marriage before his passing in 1973. Carmena loved to spend time with her family. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her loving family includes her daughters, Mary T. Durma of Amsterdam, Shirley Yermas James of Amsterdam and Carole Cusack James of Niskayuna; grandchildren, Joseph SorberoJessica, Matthew SorberoJennifer, Sara Durma, Joseph N. Durma, Sean J. CusackJacqueline, Kaitlin Cusack and Kelsey Cusack; great grandchildren, Patrick Sorbero, Samuel Sorbero and Anthony Sorbero. She is also survived by her brother Gerald Viggiano of Rome, NY. Funeral arrangements are in the care of Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Heart Association 440 New Karner Road, Albany NY 12205.
