Carol Jane Fowler

Carol Jane Fowler, 84, wife of William “Bill” Fowler, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2021. She was born on September 29, 1936, in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Hazel Peasley and the late Carl Reid. Mrs. Fowler was a member of Pax Christi Catholic Church and worked as an assistant to the Director of Graduate Studies in the department of bio chemistry at the University of Kentucky. Carol was also a proud graduate of the University of Kentucky. Carol was an accomplished artist and owned an art studio in the Artists’ Attic in Victorian square for over 10 years. Those left to cherish her memory are, her husband, Bill with whom she was married for over 60 years; daughter, Melinda (Ray) Allen, Richmond, VA; son, Billy (Erin) Fowler, Louisville, KY; brother Phillip (Jean) Reid, Spencer, IN; sister-in-law, Sylvia Reid, Indianapolis, IN; and five grandchildren; Billy V, Jennifer, Madison, Matthew, and Morgan. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Fowler is preceded in death by her brother, David Reid. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, September 21, 2021 at 11AM at Pax Christi Catholic Church, Lexington KY. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her church, Pax Christi.
