Carol Adell Greiner
April 24th, 1937 - June 11th, 2023
Carol Adell Saffel was born in Bowman North Dakota on April 24, 1937, to Clifford and Gladys Saffel. Carol was the second of 4 children: Betty Lou Erickson, Cheryl Gray and Loyal Saffel. Carol moved to Chicago, IL and met Alfred Greiner. They were married a year later, to the day, in Bowman ND, on April 20, 1957. They had 3 sons: Michael Lee Greiner who was born in Chicago IL and died of leukemia in January 1965. Steven Greiner of Colorado Springs who was born in Paris, France and Brent Greiner of Surprise AZ who was born in San Antonio TX. Carol was blessed with two grandchildren, Brittany and Shane Greiner; two great grandchildren, Arya and Eli Johns. Carol loved & cherished her family; it was the most important thing in her life besides her faith in God. She loved playing pinochle and any chance she could play cards with the family. She was raised with and was excellent at riding horses. In her youth that was her transportation to school. She was an avid horse racing enthusiast, especially the Kentucky Derby. Carol and Al loved bowling and embraced all the friendships created and it was a must to learn how to bowl for all family members. She was a good bowler and was involved in many bowling leagues throughout her years. Carol worked at Sears in the catalog department for over 20 years before she retired. A funeral service will take place at Holy Cross Lutheran Church on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 11:00AM. Interment to take place at Pikes Peak National Cemetery on Thursday, July 6, 2023 at 2:00PM.
