Carol Francis Liester

Obituary Carol Francis Liester Born: January 31, 1947 Died: March 31, 2020 Carol Liester was born to Earl and Helen (Edgecomb) Liester on January 31, 1947. She graduated from Ruthven High School, Ruthven, IA, in 1965 and went on to have four children. She loved having pets in her home including dogs, cats, occasionally fish and lizards, and even some pet mice (that she didn't know about until later). Carol loved being in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado, and spent time driving into the mountains, watching birds, looking for mountain goats, and taking pictures of her children and the wildlife. While at home she enjoyed watching Jeopardy (often challenging her children over the phone to guess the answers), listening to a variety of music (the influence of which her children will never recover), planting flowers in her garden, and watching the birds, squirrels, and butterflies in her back yard. She worked throughout her life and was very proud of the work she did at Colorado State University in the 1980's and the National Park Service in Ft. Collins, CO from 1991 until her retirement. She fought through the medical and physical impacts of Multiple Sclerosis for many years, ultimately succumbing to complications from the disease. On Tuesday, March 31, 2020, Carol Liester, passed away in Ft. Collins, Colorado. Living on with remembrances of her include her children, Jeff Anliker, Paul Anliker, Holly Morgan and Matthew Liester, and their families, her brother Vern Liester, nieces, nephews, grandchildren and many wonderful, caring family and friends.
