Carol L. Sager

Mrs. Carol L. Sager, of Schenectady passed away peacefully at Ellis Hospital on February 1, 2014. She was born in Amsterdam, NY on December 3, 1943, the daughter of the late Andrew and Mary Skoczylas Konitzer. Her loving family includes her husband, Richard A. Sager, daughter Cheryl L. Veith and son James Dallesandro Cheyenne of Schenectady, beloved grandson Griffin Dallesandro; twin sister Janet Sampone Nicholas and sisters Arlene Szurek late Frank both of Amsterdam and Joan Brown Robert of Acworth, GA, cousin Karen Buckley John, nieces and nephews Marie Markussen, Mary Beth Gallagher, Michael Sampone, Scott Brown and their families, dear friends Peggy Nixon, Cindy Yaccobucci and Donald Rathbun. She is also survived by her step children, Richard T. Sager Concetta of Johnstown and Lisa Newland Richard of Amsterdam. Carol was a graduate of the Wilbur H. Lynch High School in Amsterdam. She was employed by Liberty Enterprises for over thirty years. She loved and was very proud to have been a job coach and a mentor to many over the years at Liberty. She enjoyed playing cards, shopping and talking on the phone. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family particularly her grandson whom she cherished. She was of the Roman Catholic Faith and was devoted to her faith. Prayer was a very important part of her life. She was a member of St. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish. Carol's family would like to extend their gratitude to Community Hospice for their compassionate care in her final days. Family and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 from 9am until 10am at the Betz Rossi & Bellinger Family Funeral Home, 171 Guy Park Ave. Amsterdam NY 12010. Following the visitation a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church, 156 East Main Street, Amsterdam NY 12010 at 11am.
