Carole Martin

March 26th, 1933 - September 21st, 2022

Obituary Carole Joanne Kraxberger Martin passed away in her home on September 21, 2022 Carole was born on March 26, 1933 outside the town of Arriba, Colorado to John and Esther (Youngdahl) Kraxberger. Carole�s dad was the Postmaster for Arriba until his death. Carole�s mother became the postmaster until she retired. After High School Carole spent a year in Denver as a Western Union Operator. She left Colorado to attend San Jose Bible College. There she met Franklin Martin Jr. who became her husband. They had their son there before moving to Boise Idaho. In Boise they became foster house parents for 12 boys and later 1 girl. Carole and Frank had their 1st daughter in Boise. Then on to Denver Colorado in 1962. Their 2nd daughter was born the next year. Carole went to school in the early 1970�s to become a Licensed Practical Nurse. Worked 2 years, went back to school to become a Registered Nurse. Carole worked a few years, then pursued Respiratory Therapy. She did voluntary nursing also. Her favorite was being camp Nurse for Tremont Bible Camp and NYR. After retiring from Respiratory Therapy, Carole did home care for a while and gave flu shots every year. Franklin and Carole were known to open up their home to people who didn�t have a place to stay or needed a place for a certain amount of time. Carole had many talents. She sewed clothing for her family. She made many ceramic dishes and bells. Franklin even bought her a kiln to fire her own ceramics. She did many other crafts but she was known for her care bears. Carole was preceded in Death by daughter Karen Lynette at birth. Brothers Lee and Richard. Sisters Linda Walker and Phyllis LaVelle, and both of their husbands Ken Walker and Dean LaVelle, brother-in-laws Art Owen, Harold Fowler, Ivan Martin and Bobby McCoy. Son-in-law Maurice Settles and niece Karen (Martin) Nobrega. Carole is survived by her husband of 69 years, Franklin Martin Jr, son John & wife Tonia (Boyd), daughters Laurel Settles and Anne & Anne�s husband Guy, 8 grandchildren: Irindee, Jonaia, Franklin. Becky, Erica. April, Dakota, Chelsea. 12 great-grandchildren: Cheyanne, Scott, Gabriel. Noah, Jayden, Braydin. Jackson, Dawson, Bryson. Sophia. Talia, Deegan. Sisters Enid Fowler and Hope Owen, sister-in-law Barbara (Wagahoff) Kraxberger, brother-in-law Herman Martin and his wife Betty (Baker) sister-in-law Elaine McCoy and JoAnn Martin. And a host of nieces and nephews. Carole was full of love, compassion and had no guile. She loved all of her family and extended family. Everyone knew that she had prayed for them at one time or another. She always sent out cards. She never forgot a birthday so you knew she was thinking of you. Carole loved giving gifts also. A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 12th at 10am at Mountainview Church, 7777 W 99th Pl, Westminster, Co 80021 with luncheon following provided by Franklin and Mountainview Church. Carole�s ashes will be set at Arriba Cemetery along with her parents, great grandparents and many other ancestors.
