Carole Sullivan died peacefully on Sept 11, 2024. Carole was born in Holyoke, MA on November 4, 1944, the daughter of Ward and Rita (Cullinan) Sullivan. Carole attended Holyoke schools and graduated from Holyoke High School with honors. She met and married Shaun Cunningham and they moved to South Hadley a few years later where they raised their daughters. Carole and Shaun also welcomed into their home her brother and sister after the death of their parents.

Carole worked for 25 years at Rexam Graphics as a machine operator before retiring in 2007. She traveled extensively including Europe, the Mideast, Africa and the Caribbean. She was particularly fond of Paris. She was an avid reader and a patron of the library. She played Scrabble at a tournament level and also a bit of Mah Jong. Carole loved cats and she leaves behind her beloved kitty Oliver.

Carole is predeceased by her husband Shaun and her brother Michael. She is survived by her daughters Annelaura Cunningham of Middletown CT and Lee Cunningham, her brother Dennis Sullivan and his wife Marylou of Holyoke, her sister Nancy Reale and her husband Karl of South Hadley, her sister- in-law Joyce Chiu of Upton and several nieces and nephews.

A service for friends and family will take place at Beers and Story South Hadley Funeral Home on September 20th at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Friends of the South Hadley Public Library or The Foundation for TJO Animals.
