Carole Louise Zabriskie
November 27th, 1942 - September 19th, 2024
Carole Louise Zabriskie, age 81, of St. Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully on September 19, 2024.
Carole was born on November 27, 1942, to Otto Henry Feest and Johanna Holt in New York. A graduate of Monroe Woodbury High School, she went on to proudly serve four years in the U.S. Navy as a Petty Officer 2nd Class. While in the Navy, she married Barry Thomas Zabriskie who was serving in the U.S. Army. Carole left the Navy to start a family with Barry. They had two children together, Edward and David.
Carole was prematurely widowed in 1981. After the untimely loss of Barry, Carole embraced the challenges of raising two boys on her own. There was no doubt the love and pride that she had for Edward and David.
In 2015, Carole retired from the private sector and spent much of her time visiting with loved ones, working puzzles, sewing, baking and traveling with her sons and grandkids.
Carole was an exemplary mother figure and friend. She embodied the best of qualities, including unconditional love and strength of spirit, that could be seen in her care for her family and friends. She will be desperately missed by all those she has left behind. She was one of a kind and to be loved by her was to be truly blessed.
Carole was preceded in death by her father Otto, her mother Johanna, her brothers David and Joe and her husband Barry. She is survived by her sons Edward (Lana) and David (Kathy), her granddaughter Jesslyn, her grandsons Christopher, Andrew, and Easton.
There will be a viewing on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, from 6pm until 8pm with the funeral held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, from 12 noon until 1pm. The location will be at the Anderson McQueen Funeral Home – Tyrone Family Tribute Center, 7820 38th Ave. N, St. Petersburg, FL 33710.
