November 24, 2021 Caroline “Jean” Harris went home to be with her Heavenly Father. Jean was born December 20, 1940 in Hanford, California. She grew up in Yakima, Washington and was married August 17, 1958 in Issaquah, Washington to her first and only love, Ray “Dale“ Harris. Together, in the Puget Sound region, they raised their five children, Chrissy, Bruce, Paula, Scott, and Jeff. Family life was a priority for Jean. Celebrating birthdays and holidays were events she found great joy in preparing for. Being surrounded by family gave Jean many reasons to smile! Early years included sewing clothes for her children, playing cards, going to the movies and many fun and memorable camping trips to Ohanapecosh. Jean loved gardening!! Her backyard would be full of tomatoes and jalapeños, so she could prepare the most amazing Pico de Gallo. Colorful tulips and fragrant vines of clematis adorned her landscape. She was an excellent hostess and enjoyed cooking for the multitudes that came to celebrate all the holidays. She always helped plan and prepare for family reunions at Crystal Mountain, Skibac Lodge. Jean was an avid reader, enjoying mysteries by James Patterson and Anne Rule. She was generous throughout the year shopping and finding tiny gifts to fill everyone’s stocking at Christmas time. Her hearth wasn’t big enough to hold the 20+ carefully selected stockings that proudly displayed each family member’s name. As a hobby and vocation, Jean enjoyed antiquing, both the hunt for treasures and the sale! Jean and Dale enjoyed their retirement years taking trips in their motorhome to Arizona and Utah where Dale and friends enjoyed Senior baseball tournaments. Following Dale’s passing, Jean was well-loved by the Sumner United Methodist congregation. She found opportunities to volunteer and participated in bible studies. The fellowship of believers gave Jean a sense of belonging, hope and purpose. Jean was preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years, Ray “Dale” Harris, beloved daughter Paula Thomas, and parents Clarence and Dora Fletcher. Survivors include her children, Christine Newton (Del) Shelton WA, Bruce Harris (Joann) Ellensburg WA, Jeff Harris (Mattie) Spanaway WA and Scott Harris, Spanaway WA. Grandchildren, Chelsea Molony, Brandon Molony, and Shawn Molony. Angela Armstrong (Josh), Tyler Harris (Gina), and Garrett Harris (Elizabeth). Kristina Gann and Katie Harris. Breanna Smith. Siblings, Richard Fletcher, Don Fletcher (Cherie), Dave Fletcher (Cathy), Gary Fletcher (Pat), and Marla Raptcheff (Axel) Additionally, she leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Jean cared deeply about the well-being of others. In leu of flowers, a suggested gift in her memory may be given to Sumner United Methodist Church Memorial Fund. 901 Wood Ave. Sumner, WA 9839
