March 25th, 1956 - September 1st, 2024
Remembering Carolyn Marie Fisher:
Carolyn Marie Fisher, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and wife, was born on March 25, 1956, in Weiser, Idaho. She peacefully passed away on September 1, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
Carolyn, known for her tenacity and heartwarming personality, was born to Joe Jr. and Izetta Servatius. Growing up in Weiser, Idaho, she was one of five children, sharing a vibrant childhood with her siblings, Sharon, Lori, Mike, and Joe. Carolyn's life was a testament to her strength and dedication. She married Merl Holladay and was blessed with two sons, Merl Jr. and Jessie. Even after her divorce, Carolyn, as a proud single mom, balanced work and maternal duties with grace. She started working in the Weiser School District, initially as a cook, and eventually transitioned to a special education aide role, where her empathetic nature shone brightly. It was here that she learned sign language, helping her connect deeply with her students.
Carolyn's journey took a beautiful turn when she met Vernon (Bud) Fisher. Her playful wish to ride in the City Fire Ladder Truck might have been the spark that ignited Bud's love for her. They cherished their bond and married on February 19, 1996, at the Lutheran Church in Weiser. Their home on County Rd. 70 became a sanctuary of love and laughter for the next 28 years. Even beyond her formal career, Carolyn's community spirit never wavered. She joined the Weiser Fire District and obtained her EMT certification, proving her commitment to helping others in times of need.
In 2023, Carolyn faced an immense battle with inoperable pancreatic cancer. She fought with incredible courage, supported by her devoted husband Bud, her children, and her extended family. Carolyn's final moments were spent at home in Weiser, wrapped in the warmth of her loved ones. Carolyn's legacy will be cherished by all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Bud, her sons Merl Jr. and Jessie, her sisters Sharon and Lori, her brothers Mike and Joe, and her adored grandchildren.
A graveside service in her honor will be held on Thursday, September 12, 2024, at 11:00 am at Hillcrest Cemetery in Weiser, Idaho.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the American Red Cross Society or a charity of your choice in Carolyn’s name.
