Carolyn Huskey went to be with the Lord, Friday, January 14, 2011 at her home surrounded by family. She was born May 7, 1940 in Loveland, CO to Herman and Frances (Hoffman) Achziger. Carolyn attended Greeley schools and graduated from Greeley High in 1958. She attended college for one year when she then married Jim Huskey on April 12, 1959 at St. Paul’s Congregational Church in Greeley. "The Voice of Weld County”, Carolyn worked as the receptionist for Weld County Garage for 26 years until her illness in April 2009. Carolyn loved gardening, traveling, cooking and entertaining. She loved her mountain play house (cabin) in Crystal Lakes, visiting Mexico and Hawaii, but most importantly she lived for her grandsons. Carolyn was known as "The Grandma” and "Buddy”. She was a loving and committed wife, mother and grandmother. Carolyn is survived by her husband, Jim; two daughters, Tammy Witmer, Lori & husband Tim Coatman; five grandsons, Zachery & wife Ginger Coatman, Travis Coatman, A.J. Coatman, Tyler & wife Nichole Witmer, all of Greeley, Justin & wife Ally Witmer of Lake Havasue, AZ; and her sister, Barbara Magnuson of LaSalle, CO. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Richard "Dick” Achziger. A Memorial Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 20, 2011 at Greeley Wesleyan Church 3600 W. 22nd Street, Greeley, CO 80634 followed by inurnment at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to "Greeley Humane Society” in care of Adamson Funeral and Cremation Services 2000 47th Avenue, Greeley, CO 80634.
