Carolyn Sloan Mosley went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2018. Her parents, Sandy Sloan and Pauline Teagle Sloan, and her brother, Sandy Sloan, Jr., predeceased her. Carole was born March 8, 1928 in Cordele, Georgia and moved to West Palm Beach, Florida in 1929. Carole lived her early years there, graduating from Palm Beach High School and attending Florida State University at Tallahassee. Carole worked for the First National Bank in Palm Beach, the only bank in Palm Beach at that time. Carole enjoyed her job in the bookkeeping department and worked there until she met and married the love of her life, Robert Mosley. Carole and Robert began their 70th year of marriage this August. Carole was supportive of Robert's military career and enjoyed the traveling his assignments afforded. She especially enjoyed their three years in France. Carole was a stay at home mother for her two children and she was always there for them. As her children grew older, she became involved in Club and volunteer work and served in the organizations she joined: Family Services and Red Cross at Bases in Texas and Colorado, President of the Protestant Women of the Chapel, and Treasurer of the Officer's Club at Patrick Air Force Base. As a civilian wife, Carole joined and served as President of the Apollo XI Parliamentary Law Unit, President of the In-Har-Bee Garden Club, Charter member and President of the Melbourne Chapter 216 Ikebana International, Treasurer of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District VI, and then served for six years on the State Board of the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs including two years as Corresponding Secretary and four years in chairmanships. Her love of flowers and flower arranging led her to attend Flower Show Judges School in 1990 and later, to become a Nationally Accredited Master Flower Show Judge. Studying horticulture and flower arranging brought her much joy. Carole is survived by her husband Lt. Col. (Ret'd) Robert L. Mosley, daughter Melody Mosley and son-in-law Barry Silverman; son Mark Mosley; grandchildren Tim Silverman, Chris Silverman, Gary Mosley; sister-in-law Verna Sloan; niece Sandra Day; cousin Ted Teagle and many other relatives and friends. Carole had a deep and abiding faith in Jesus Christ and was a member of Grace Brethren Church in Melbourne. Services will be held at Grace Brethren Church on Saturday, October 6, 2018, at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Salvation Army or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
