Carolyn J. Oare passed away peacefully on October 8, 2010, at the Fulton County Residential Healthcare Facility. Carolyn was a 10 year sufferer of Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease COPD, and was in the loving hands of Mountain Valley Hospice as well as her family for the last few days of her life. Carolyn was born on July 26, 1943 in Gloversville, NY and is survived by her loving husband Fred, sons Jerry Greene and James Greene Lucy, daughters Tracy Welch and Victoria Myers, sisters Patricia Oare John and Virginia Briggs Raymond, half-brothers James Hazzard and Virgil Hazzard Jr, grandchildren Rebekka Myers, Amy Allan, Wayne Allan, James Allan, and Jamie Allan, many loving nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her Mother Alice Loveless and Father Virgil Hazzard Sr Audrey as well as her sister Frances Fagant Robert. Carolyn lived a full and active life, especially in the years before her illness, and enjoyed many outdoor activities including camping and fishing with Fred, watching her Yankees play ball, and attending school events with her grandchildren. She was a homemaker and prided herself on keeping a meticulous home. Carolyn had many friends who she loved and who loved her dearly including the health care workers she had come to know through their help over the years. She will be missed greatly. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday, October 11, 2010, in the evening from 4-7pm at the Walrath & Stewart Funeral Home located at 51 Fremont St., Gloversville. A service will be at 10am on Tuesday, October 12, 2010, at the North Main Street United Methodist Church located at 316 North Main Street in Gloversville, Pastor Chris Hamm officiating. Donations may be made, in-lieu of flowers, to the American Lung Association, 61 Broadway New York, NY 10006.
