Carolyn May Rawlins

RAWLINS, Carolyn H., 83 of Tampa, FL, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016. She was born on December 12, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY, and graduated from Tenafly High School in 1951. Carolyn worked at the McGraw Hill book company (NY) and in the Palm Beach County school system for 24 years. She was active in professional organizations FAEOP, AEOP and NAEOP for many years and was chief negotiator for the school system for 17 years. Carolyn was a founding member of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Palm Beach Gardens, FL, where she was a member of the Daughters of the King and was altar guild directress for many years. She is predeceased by her husband of 40 years James J. Rawlins and her son James Paul Rawlins. Carolyn is survived by daughters, Nancy Owen (Alan), Amy Prue (Mark); grandchildren Emily, Ryan and Kristen. A funeral service will be held at St. Catherine of Alexandria Episcopal Church 502 Druid Hills Rd., Temple Terrace 33617 on Friday, April 22 at 10 a.m. Her ashes will be interred in the church columbarium. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
