Carolyn Glenn Therrell Mrs. Therrell, 90, of Charlotte, NC slipped peacefully into the hands of heaven on Tuesday, September 13, 2011. Born on June 8, 1921, she was a loving wife, mother, sister, aunt and beloved Meemaw to her family members. On Nov. 7, 1942, she married the love of her life, James Gaddy (Jimmy) Therrell who survives her. She enjoyed being with her family above all. Carolyn was a member of Dilworth United Methodist Church since 1948 where she served in many ministries. She also served as a scout leader. Her favorite pastimes included playing Bridge, working crossword puzzles and needlework. For the past few years she has made her home at Aldersgate Retirement Center. In addition to her husband, she is survived by her daughter, Betsy McDonald and husband, Sam of Greenville, NC and son, Jim Therrell and wife, Wendy of Greensboro, NC; her sister, Bobbie June Merrick of Charlotte; brother-in-law, Bill Therrell of Birmingham. Al; grandchildren: Carey, Jack (Dawn), Mary Beth, Jim, Christy Post, Grace McDonald, Ashley and Trey Therrell; great-grandchildren Dillon Carson and Riley McDonald; nieces Lynn and Nancy Merrick, Frances West; nephews, Mark and Dana Therrell. A service to celebrate her life will be held at 2:00PM Saturday, September 24, 2011, in the Terry Chapel at Dilworth United Methodist Church with the Reverend Ben Devoid officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.
