Catherine M. Andrews

Catherine M. ?Kate? Andrews, 77, former resident of Fonda, NY until 1987, died Monday evening at her home with her loving family at her side at Kingsboro Towers in Gloversville. Born May 27, 1929 in Fonda, New York, she was the daughter of the late Kenneth and Ethel Schultz Siebe. She lived most of her life in Fonda and attended Fonda High School. Kate was employed as a Home Health Aide and Cook for the Dawn Crest Nursing Home in Fultonville. She was also a homemaker. She loved to play cards and was an avid bowler, bowling at Perry Lanes in Johnstown and the Sunset Lanes in Gloversville. Kate was a member of the Iroquois Seniors Group of Tribes Hill and the Fonda Fultonville United Methodist Church. On August 18, 1946 she married Robert Andrews. Besides her husband survivors include five sons, Robert E. Andrews, Jr. and his wife Edna of Canajoharie, NY, Kenneth L. Andrews, Sr. and his wife Darlene of Pennellville, NY, Lawrence P. Andrews Sr. and his wife Kathy of Pennellville, NY, David A. Andrews, Sr. and his wife Donna of Tribes Hill, NY and Dana L. Andrews and his wife Denice of Pulaski, NY; a daughter, Lisa D. Hinkle and her husband Vernon of Fort Plain, NY; two brothers, Kenneth Siebe of Ohio and Robert Siebe of Homosassa, Florida; two sisters, Donna Putnam and Maria Lyn Calhoun of Johnstown; 19 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive. Kate was predeceased by a sister, Edna Guyette who died in 2006. Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 11:00 am at the Jackson & Betz Funeral Home, 15 Main Street, Fultonville with the Rev. Nancy Pullen officiating. Burial will take place in Evergreen Cemetery, Sands Flats in Fonda. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 to 7 pm at the funeral home.
