CATHERINE M. BOHANNON Catherine Mae Bohannon, 76, passed away with her daughter and son by her side on April 19, 2023. Cathy was born August 21, 1946 in Chico to Alta (Dwyer) Dowd and Edward Dowd. She is survived by her twin sister Marty Gore, brothers Tom Dowd and Jimmy Lee; daughter Donna Trimm, son John Bohannon, son-in-law Jim Trimm, daughter-in-law Stephanie Bohannon; grandchildren Zachary LeRossignol, Tanner Trimm, Tate Trimm, Savannah Trimm, Brenden Bohannon, Bailey Bohannon, and great grandchildren Beau Trimm and June LeRossignol. Cathy was raised in Durham and enjoyed spending time riding horses through the family's orchards. She graduated from Durham High School in 1964. She went on to take college courses, but family quickly became her priority with the arrival of Donna in 1967 and John in 1970. Family was the most important thing to Cathy. She was all about spending time with all of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, and they loved the time they spent with grandma and Gigi (Great Grandma) Cathy spent 36 years working for Pacific Bell as an operator, service representative and manager. She was well known for fighting for her fellow employees as a union representative and executive vice president of the local branch of the Communication Workers of America. Cathy made many close friends over the years, and enjoyed spending time with friends and family. She enjoyed life and believed in always having fun. Her vivacious quick witted sense of humor drew people to her. She was the first to offer help to her family and friends and had her special way of making everyone smile and laugh. Cathy had a full life of making memories with her family and friends that we will forever cherish. Cathy will be laid to rest at Glen Oak Memorial Park in a private family ceremony.
