Catherine Missouri Highsmith, age 80, passed away October 3, 2021, St. Josephs Hospital, Tampa, FL with her family by her side. She earned a high school diploma and some college credits. She worked at Moss Brother Store as a Clothing Retail Sales Person. Born November 1941, she moved from Perry, FL to Tampa, FL with her mother, Mrs. Fannie Mae King; oldest brother, George Eugene King; youngest brother, Bonnie C. King. Catherine was preceded in death by her mother; father; brothers; Clarence W. Highsmith “Sonnyboy Highsmith”, ex-husband; Renee Lashay Taylor, granddaughter; Tyr Fenrir Daniels, great-grandson. She is survived by her children: Laronia F. Neu (Highsmith), Raeford, NC, daughter; Donald Highsmith, Sr., Tampa, FL, son; Robin Highsmith, daughter-in-law; Charlotte E. Highsmith, Tampa, FL, daughter; a great number of grandchildren and many great-grandchildren. Her family plans to hold a small “Celebration of Life Ceremony” around her birthday for all to say their goodbyes. The family wishes to thank Catherine’s Guardian and Hospice of St. Josephs Hospital, for their support and professional care.
