Cecil R. Reck
September 21st, 1928 - October 16th, 2019
Cecil Robert "Pop” Reck Jr., 91, of Greeley, passed away on October 16, 2019 at home after a long battle with cancer. Pop was born along his twin brother to Cecil Sr. and Clara (Silvers) Reck on September 21, 1928 in Dayton, Ohio. He spent the first 19 years of his life in Ohio. Pop attended trade school learning carpentry, electrical, and radio training. Being an adventurer, he hopped on his motorcycle at the age of 19 and headed for California. Pop was a talented carpenter and electrician. Over the years, he had been a jack-or-all trades among his life’s work he had been a concessionaire, a construction worker, a finish carpenter and furniture builder, and most recently an iron worker. His favorite job was that of a concessionaire. His most gratifying work was that of an AA counselor. Pop was a national traveler. He lived in the western states of California, Nevada, Arizona and most recently, Colorado Pop’s recreational activities included motorcycling, camping, and avid fishing. Above all, the joy of his life was watching his grandchildren grow and mature. Family and friends describe Pop as a humble, caring, helpful, wise, spiritual, humorous and quite generous with his time. His life, not the words of others, proved his character. Above all, Pop was loving as his nine marriages exemplify! His many colorful stories and flamboyant laugh will be sorely missed. Pop is survived by his children, Terry (Cathy) Reck of Greeley, CO; Jan (Mark) Langemo of McIntosh, MN, Richard (Sonya) Stevenson of Mountainair, NM; Patti (Bruce) Bell, Missouri. Grandchildren surviving: Tara, Charlyn, Marshall, Jim, Kjersten, Amanda, Brady, Christopher; great grandchildren; Correy, Mackenzie, Willa, Sawyer, Celia, Tumi, Collin, Finley, Keaton, Ada, Ella, Grafton, and Magnolia. He will be forever missed. Pop was preceded in death by his wife, Ernestine; his parents; and his twin brother. To leave condolences for Pop’s family, www.adamsoncares.com
