Celina Lopez

Celina Lopez was born on February 10th, 1960 in Culiacan, Sinaloa to Fausto Cazares and Ofelia Gastelum. She grew up on their family’s ranch in Guayabito, Sinaloa along with her siblings Tito, Martha, Alfredo and Luis. She enjoyed many memories living on the ranch, but Celina spent various years weekending with her Aunt Martha in the city. Her family then moved into Culiacan where she lived out her teenage years. She graduated from high school in 1978 and decided to pursue a journalism career in Mexico City. She lived and studied there for a few years, but then made the move to the states. Celina arrived to Los Angeles, CA in 1987. She met Raul Lopez and they married in 1995. They raised their two daughters, Nidia and Natalia, in Parker, Colorado, along with their family dog, Preciosa. Celina was a world traveler. She loved nothing more than traveling, and of course, taking photos of her trips. Shopping was also one of her major joys in life, as she could never pass up on a good bargain, especially on designer brands! Celina entered heaven on May 2nd, 2022 at the age of 62. She passed away peacefully, surrounded by her immediate family, from her year and a half battle with bile duct cancer. Rosary will be held at 10:30 am and Funeral Mass at 11:00 am Monday, May 9th at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 2746 Fifth Street, Castle Rock, Colorado.
