Chad Stephen Rife

Chad Stephen (Hart) Rife, Youngest son of Susan Hood (Wood), beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on Thursday, January 12, 2017, with loved ones by his side as he drifted off to be with the Lord at the age of 27 due to complications from cancer. He fought long and hard, and is now at peace. He is survived by his parents, Susan and Ronald Wood of Rocklin, Steve Rife of Reno. His best friend and love of his life Kathryn "Kati" Mundt. Chad spent five plus years with his true love and soul mate Kati in Rocklin. It was a beautiful and cherished love and a long time friendship. She never once left his side through his illness and comforted him throughout. The family thanks her, Keith & Chris (Mundt) and family so much. Truly "California grown"; born and raised where he spent most of his life and was a longtime resident of the Rocklin/Roseville area. He attended Antelope elementary school, Springview middle school, Rocklin high school and graduated from Victory high school. His first job was at Fireside Lanes in Citrus Heights where he learned to bowl and became a member of a competitive bowling league. A natural born Problem solver who always took pride in his work as he worked various customer service types of jobs including Subway, Marshalls, a moving company, Skate attendant, ect. ect. But Working beside his Brother, Forrest, in construction was not only his favorite but the most enjoyable for him out of all. Chad was known to always have a great sense of humor, a smile on his face that could light up a room, and an Uncanny way to reach people in a deep and positive way. He knew no strangers and was a fun loving outgoing person and was loved by so many who had the opportunity to know him. "to know him, was to love him". He had a very kind heart, quick wit and never lacked a good punch line. He enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, such as spending time with the people he loved, chatting and laughing, Reading, Disc golfing, Watching movies (huge movie buff!) Star gazing, Skateboarding, Bowling, Playing games (very competitive and did not like losing!) Writing, Drawing, Marvel & DC Comics, and Anything to expand his mind. He Constantly Loved to educate and challenge himself as well as teach others *always patient and supportive* With his love for knowledge, and passion for literacy and the arts, he could make any subject exciting and even had hopes of one day becoming a College Professor. His grandmothers Carole Hood of Ogden Utah, Joyce Wood of Sacramento, and Kay Rife of Reno. His brothers Michael (Trina) and Jeff (Barbara) Alkema, Forrest (Lisa) and Tommy (Vera) Hart. Sisters Kimberly ( Scott) Roak, Krystal and Kayla Rife, Tracy Johnson, Cheryl Hart and Janean Dorn. As well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, His cat Raja, and his dog Cali and his eternal Support of the Raiders, because NO MATTER WHAT, he always had hopes for them and after suffering as a Raider fan for years he truly enjoyed this season. Chad has always been fierce and persistent fighter who lived every day of his life as fully as he could. He gave us all such courage, hope, and reminded us of the preciousness of life.
