Charity Delos Reyes Laforteza

Charity Delos Reyes Laforteza, age 43 of Honolulu, HI, passed away on Monday, August 15, 2016. She was born in Santa Cruz, CA, to Herminia Lagua and Terzon Laforteza on July 4, 1973. Charity attended Natural Bridges Elementary, Holy Cross School, and Santa Cruz High School. She later moved to Honolulu, HI, where she attended Heald College and received her AAS degree in Information Technology. She then went on to work for PACBLU in Honolulu, HI, where she was a software developer and database administrator. While still with us, she had a knack for computer programming, she also enjoyed a good puzzle and loved all genres of music, from classical to punk rock. She loved to bake, was an excellent cook, and was very crafty. Charity is survived by her brother, Darwin Laforteza, three step-sisters, Evelyn Reyes, Fe Dinneen, and Suzette Lagua, step-brother, Brixton Lagua, her mother and step-father, Herminia and Felicisimo Lagua, her Grandma Mercedes, five aunts, Saturnina, Lolita, Brigida, Pat, and Amy, three uncles Rodrigo, Ross, and Danny. She is also survived by her nine cousins, Jason, Julius, Karen, Patrick, Ryan, Melissa, Ian, Marjorie and Joy. There will be a viewing from 2:00pm until 6:00pm on Friday, September 9, 2016 at Benito & Azzaro Pacific Gardens Chapel. Immediately following the public viewing, there will be a rosary from 6:00pm to 7:00pm. There will be a Mass of Christian Burial beginning at 9:00am on Saturday, September 10, 2016, at the Shrine of St. Joseph Guardian of the Redeemer, 544 West Cliff Drive in Santa Cruz. A Committal Service will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery.
