Charles D. Adkins

October 22nd, 1937 - October 10th, 2012

Charles D. Adkins, 74, of Caldwell was brought up to be with our heavenly father on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 as a result of natural causes. He will be deeply missed and forever loved. Charles was born October 22, 1937 in Spurlockville, WV to John and Blanche Adkins. He attended Hamlin High School in Hamlin, WV. He honorably served 25 years in the United States Air Force. He served his country in the Vietnam War and later retired as a highly decorated Master Sargent. After retiring from the Air Force he worked for R.M.I. of Caldwell and retired after 16 years. Charles married and deeply loved his wife of 54 years Nellie Adkins. He is survived by his wife, children: John D., Charles M., Robert D., Lisa K., eight grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, his brother William C. Adkins of WV., and Joyce Ramey of KY. A public viewing will be held on Wednesday, October 17, 2012, 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. A graveside service to include full military honors will be held at Canyon Hill Cemetery in Caldwell on Thursday, October 18, 2012, 2:00pm and will be officiated by Pastor Frank Shackelford of Calvary Temple in Caldwell.
