Charles Berg Charles Leroy Berg was born October 16, 1937 in the small town of Canary, Oregon, to Conrad and Lydia Berg. The oldest of 4 children, Charles grew up in Veneta/Elmira and graduated from Elmira High School in 1957. He married Luetta Jean Gall, October 18, 1964. They were blessed with three daughters, Tara, Lisa and Crystal. He worked at Woolworths and the Cannery before joining the U.S. Postal Service where he was for 30 years retiring in 1992. An avid bike rider, he rode his bike everywhere, work, church, and even taking it on vacations to New York and Florida. He also enjoyed playing pool with the other residents of the mobile home park where he lived. A lifetime active member of Central Lutheran Church, he sang in the chorale, was head usher for many years and attended men’s Bible studies. He was also a member of the National Association of Retired Federal Employee’s. He is survived by his wife; Luetta; daughters; Tara Pratt, Lisa Berg and Crystal Clayborn. A brother; Leslie; 6 beautiful grandchildren, Janea and Jaydyn Pratt; Darien and Caleb Barels; Sunrea and Fiona Clayborn along with 3 great-grandchildren; Avery, Kile and Ezekiel. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Myron and sister, Carolyn.
