Charles Stanley Lyman
November 15th, 1923 - September 10th, 2016
Mr. Charles Stanley Lyman, age 92, a resident of Lakeland passed away Saturday, September 10, 2016 at Arbor Oaks Assisted Living in Lakeland. Mr. Lyman was born November 15, 1923 in Springville, Pennsylvania to Reuben and Marie (Moore) Lyman. He was a Polk County resident since 2004 coming from South Carolina. Charles was a Mason, volunteered for Habitat, enjoyed puzzles & watching sports on TV. He was a 27 year veteran of the United States Navy, Army Air Corp and Air Force. He served in World War II, the Korean Conflict and Vietnam wars at stations around the world. Charles retired as a Chief Master Sergeant, E9 and was affectionately known by his granddaughters and great grandchildren as "Tough Dude". He was pre ceded in death by his parents and beloved wife - Glee in 2008. Charles is survived by his loving family; 2 Daughters: Judy (Mitch) King of Lakeland, FL., Linda (John) McCloskey of Centreville, MD, 2 Sisters: Kathryn Doughty of Spring Hill, FL., Alice Evans of Springville, PA., 3 Granddaughters: Cheryl Clark of Lakeland, FL., Laura (Timothy) Janiszewski of Ellicott City, MD., Kerry (David) Mohr of Grasonville, MD., 4 Great Grandchildren: Luke McKey Janiszewski, Jacob McKey Janiszewski, Gregory Scott Mohr and Kaleigh Christine Mohr.,
