Charles Richard Olson
March 29th, 1939 - July 31st, 2024
Charles (aka “Charlie”, “Chuck” and “CRO”) Olson of Lone Tree, Colorado was born on March 29, 1939 in Wenatchee, Washinton to Clarence and Ida (Coffey) Olson. He died unexpectedly at the age of 85 on July 31, 2024 of complications from a severe stoke.
Upon graduation from high school in 1957 Charlie enlisted in the US Army and a short time later was stationed in Orleans, France where he then met the love of his life, Thelma “Louise” Wilson also serving in the US Army. Charlie and Louise were married in Los Angeles after they both were discharged from the Army in 1961. They were married for over 60 years and had three children, Cynthia Anton, Jennifer Sain and Matthew. Louise and Matt preceded Charlie in death.
Charlie spent his entire working life as an elevator man. He began his elevator career with Haughton Elevator in LA then went to Westinghouse Elevator and then Lerch-Bates Elevator Consultants in LA and later relocated to the Denver, CO office where he retired as the President of the firm. Congratulations on a very successful career!
Charlie and Louise raised their children in a loving family home with lots of camping trips and family visits. They owned many RV’s and traveled the US and Canada extensively. When their nest became empty Charlie and Louise became snow-birds in the Phoenix, AZ area. They enjoyed their many “snowbird” friends.
Charlie had a very strong belief in our Lord Jesus Christ. He spent much time reading and studying his bible daily.
Surviving family members include Cynthia (daughter) and Jim Anton, Jennifer (daughter) and Bill Sain, Cole and Cameron Anton (grandchildren) and Ross (brother) and Carole Olson, Monika and Douglas James, Laura and Shawn Close, Earl and Marcie Olson, and 6 grand nephews.
Charlie, take your deserved rest until we see you again. GOD bless you.
