Warner Robins; GA. Charles H. Pierce, 90, passed away on Friday August 12, 2011. Funeral Services will be held Monday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Heritage Memorial Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Magnolia Park Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 5:00PM until 7:00PM. The Reverend Myke Harbuck will officiate. Mr Pierce was born in Atlanta, GA. He was the son of the late Harry Edward Pierce and Mattie Mae Sewell Pierce. He was Proceeded in death by his wife Jennie Elizabeth Pierce; brothers Robert Lee Pierce and Carl Edward Pierce. He was retired civil service from Robins Air Force Base after 30 years of employment. Mr Pierce was a member and deacon of Evergreen Baptist Church and Northside Baptist Church where he sang with the Melatones. He bowled in several local bowling leagues and was a member of the Ham Radio Club. In his later years he resided at Heritage Retirement Home for several years and eventually went to Tennille Retirement Home where he spent the last months. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. Survivors include a special friend Anna Roberson of Warner Robins; his Daughter Rebecca Gail Pierce Ellis of Tenille GA and son Kenneth Charles Pierce of Alabama. Grandchildren Melissa Ann Tanner Ralph of Sandersville GA; Shelby Randall Wood of DeepStep GA; Ria Christine Rooney Chris of Vienna; Kenneth Charles Jr. of Macon. Great Grandchildren Erica Tanner; Lindsay Tanner, Jessi Wood, several nieces and nephews; special cousin James Sewell and Helen Mosley. Heritage Memorial Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
