Charles "Chuck" Pitts

Charles “Chuck” Pitts Charles Martin Pitts, known to friends as “Chuck,” passed away on May 1, 2018, at the age of 81 years. A native of Clarksburg, WV, Chuck graduated from Washington Irving High School in 1954. Chuck then join the United States Navy where he served for 3 years before attending Fairmont State University, where he graduated with a degree in accounting. His career began with Anchor Hocking Glass Corp where he worked for thirty years before retiring in 1991. He was also the owner of Crystal Classic Glass in Lancaster, Ohio. After retiring he relocated to Hilton Head in 1993 and continued working as a Financial Advisor until 2005. Chuck was a 12 year volunteer for the Hilton Head CONCOURS d’ELEGANCE. He was an active member at St. Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church where he volunteered for numerous positions including usher and the weekly soup kitchen. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mary Lou, son Randy (Carla); daughter Kelly; three granddaughters Erica, Kaylee and Alexandra; one great grandson Braylon; one brother Carl E. Pitts, Jr.; and one sister Patricia A. Morris (Dave). A viewing will be held from 1 pm – 2 pm with the Celebration of Life at 2pm on Thursday May 3, at St. Andrew by the Sea United Methodist Church, 20 Pope Ave, Hilton Head Island, SC 29928, with Reverend Neil Youngue officiating. Memorial donations in memory of Chuck can be made to St. Andrew by the Sea. The Island Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements. islandfuneralhome.com
