Charles Wallace Rhodes
June 2nd, 1934 - June 1st, 2015
Charles Wallace Rhodes, Jr., 80, of Port Charlotte, Florida passed away Monday, June 1, 2015, one day shy of his 81st birthday. Mr. Rhodes was born June 2, 1934 in Oskaloosa, Kansas to Charles Wallace and Mary Lou (nee Williamson) Rhodes and moved to this area 47 years ago from Springfield, Ohio. Mr. Rhodes taught in the Charlotte County School System for 28 years. He enjoyed photography and traveling to Western US Parks during his retirement. He was a veteran of the US Air Force serving from 1958-1962 and was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Port Charlotte. Mr. Rhodes is survived by his dear friends, Don Wendell of Melbourne, FL and James and Jill Thomas of Port Charlotte. Also his pet Chihuahua, Carmen. Friends may call from 10-10:30AM on Friday, June 5, 2015 at Paul Schelm Funeral Home, 12687 SW County Road 769 (Kings Highway) in Lake Suzy. A Catholic Wake Service will be held at 10:30AM at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Restlawn Memorial Gardens in Port Charlotte.
