Mr. Charles H. Vernon, 80, of Greensboro, died Sunday, September 29, 2013, at Wesley Long Hospital. A graveside service will be held 11:00 am Wednesday, at Lakeview Memorial Park, with the Reverend Dallas George officiating. Mr. Vernon was born June 9, 1933 to Henry and Ruth Baynes Vernon. He married to the late Mildred Vernon and a member of New Testament Baptist Church. Mr. Vernon is survived by his daughter, Debra Welker (Victor) of Greensboro; sons, Eddie Vernon (Won), of California and Steven Vernon, of Oregon; sisters, June Blackard (Wes) of Jamestown and Mary Lou Varner, of Greensboro; 2 grandchildren.
