Charles Rene WaiteSept 21, 1930 – Feb 10, 2011Harrisburg, Oregon lost one of its 'Montana cowboys' last Thursday. Charles Rene Waite joined his beloved Kristine and dear friend and brother-in-law Paul in heaven.A celebration of life will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 26 at Life Bible Church in Harrisburg. Charles died of age-related heart disease. He was 80.He was born September 21, 1930 in Utica, Montana to Charles Arthur & Eileen Heather (Rooney) Waite.He graduated from Hobson High School and entered the Navy thereafter. He valiantly defended our country during the Korean conflict and received a purple heart. He loved horses, University of Oregon athletics, watching his grandkids play sports and just being in the presence of those he loved.Survivors include his sweetheart of 53 years, Margaret Janice (Helgerson) Waite, daughter Karen (Waite) McMillen of Sweet Home, and sons Philip of Monmouth and Darin of Corvallis. A daughter, Kristine (Waite) Unger, has been waiting for him since 2001.His family was his life. He leaves behind a beautiful legacy to nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.Arrangements by Murphy-Musgrove Funeral Home in Junction City
