Charles William Weaver

Charles William Weaver lost an 18-month battle against primary CNS lymphoma (a brain cancer) on February 23, 2018 at Capital Care Hospice in Arlington, Virginia. He was the loving husband of Susan Weaver and the beloved father of Rebecca Dahlman of Germantown, Maryland, Christopher Weaver of Springfield, Virginia and proud grandfather of Annie Dahlman, also of Germantown, Maryland. Charles was born December 22, 1935, the only child of William Troy Weaver and Neva Maud Weaver of Muskogee, Oklahoma. He attended schools in Muskogee, OK and colleges in Oklahoma and New Mexico before earning a Bachelor of Science in Physics from Oklahoma State University. After graduating he accepted a position with Westinghouse near Baltimore and began courting his future wife, Susan Parsons, who was a student at American University in Washington, D.C. They were married June 4, 1961 and celebrated their 56th wedding anniversary in 2017. He later earned a Master’s degree in Mathematical Statistics from George Washington University. The family established a home in Arlington before living for several years in Germany, Belgium, England and Iran while working for various American companies with projects in those countries. Later he established a small IT company in Alexandria, Virginia, where he served as president and CEO for 10 years. Charles was an avid fencer for many years, continuing an interest begun in college. He loved fast cars and owned several Porsches during his life. He was an accomplished artist, painting in oils from photographs he took for that purpose. He frequented the Arlington County Fair, the Washington, D.C. 4th of July Parade, and the Maryland Renaissance Festival to find subjects for his paintings, many of which featured children. Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Gathering to be held between 3 and 6pm on Saturday, March 24, 2018, at Advent Funeral Services, 7211 Lee Highway, Falls church, VA 22046. Some of his paintings will be displayed.
